There are articles suitable for babies starting for those of
3 to 5 lbs, but most will suit the average of 7lbs.
All-in-one Sleep suits either in plain for nightwear or fancy
velour for daywear is the most practical clothing at this stage.
It can be difficult to dress small babies in separate garments.
Don't be tempted to buy too many first size garments, as within
3 to 4 weeks the baby will out-grow them. Approximately 5 or
6 sleep suits should be enough to allow for washing and changing.
